What is Vectorising?

Vectorising is the process of turning a low resolution raster image such as a jpeg or bitmap into a high quality, scalable & editable vector file. Vector files can be viewed at any scale without blurring or distorting of the image or colours and can be easily manipulated and edited for a number of different applications. While there is an assortment of software available that is capable of vectorising automatically, the original image needs to already be a fairly high resolution for it to be effective. Using software to autovectorise a low quality image usually ends up requiring more effort to neaten the image up than if it had simply been redrawn from scratch. We hand vectorise to ensure you get the highest quality vector files returned to you.
